Movie Description
Many of the stars on the Warner Bros. roster make appearances in this lavish musical--including Humphrey Bogart, Bette Davis, and Errol Flynn--shedding their dramatic personas for song, dance, and hilarious comedy. The plot concerns an egomaniacal, mean-spirited movie star who is making life a living hell for the producers of a benefit show. Meanwhile, a nerdy tour guide is finding it impossible to find work as an actor--because of his strong resemblance to that uncouth film actor. That all changes when the producers decide to have the troublesome entertainer kidnapped...and replaced by his look-alike. Will the scheme succeed? This charming musical from Hollywood's Golden Age scored an Academy Award nomination for Best Song with "They're Either Too Young or Too Old.", Stars of Hollywood's Golden Age shed their serious dramatic ways for songs and dances and hilarious comedy.
