Movie Description
This Oscar-winning film is both eccentrically funny and an old-fashioned tearjerker. The story centers around the volatile relationship between a mother and daughter spanning 30 years. Industry Reviews
"...A funny, touching, beautifully acted film....Enormously appealing, thanks to the bright, witty, larger-than-life performances that James Brooks has elicited from his stars..."
New York Times - p.C18 - Janet Maslin (11/23/1983)

"...Enormously enjoyable....Brooks' dialog is wonderful throughout and all the characters carry off their assignments beautifully..."
Variety - Har. (11/23/1983)

"MacLaine's Oscar-winning rendering of a controlling shrew is somehow endearing despite and because of her flaws."
Premiere - Premiere Staff (04/01/2004)
