Synopsis Short stories by singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett, all of which take place in "Margaritaville", a fictitious place--really a state of mind--of imagination, curiosity, and humor, most frequently visited by roamers and dreamers. As Margaritaville has no physical equivalent, most of the stories take place on the ocean, usually the Gulf Stream. Buffett tells tales about a heartbroken cowboy, and a third-generation sailor and musical outlaw. He follows Mark Twain's dictum, "Write what you know about;" many of the stories are autobiographical, or are based on stories told to him.
