TAE GUK GI: THE BROTHERHOOD OF WAR: Brothers Jin-Seok (Bin Won) and Jin-Tae (Dong-Kun Jang) come from a family whose unremitting struggle with poverty has led them to place all their hopes in Jin-Seok, the younger of the two. The whole family works in order for Jin-Seok to someday attend university. Their precarious aspirations are shattered by the outbreak of the Korean War, when Jin-Seok is drafted and Jin-Tae joins up as well, in order to work for his brother's release. The only hope of the elder brother lies in the acceptance of dangerous missions that will earn him the Medal of Honor, and his brother's release. Jin-Seok, however, does not understand his Jin-Tae's intentions, and mistakes his valiant bravery for misplaced patriotism and greedy ambition, until finally and tragically he is confronted by the truth.
SHIRI: In 1992, Hee was trained by a secret North Korean terrorist organization to be a deadly assassin. Six years later, her extreme accuracy has taken the lives of many in South Korea, and Ryu--a special agent of OP, Korea's top secret intelligence agency--along with his cohort Lee, have devoted years to capturing slippery Hee to no avail. Ryu keeps his profession a secret from his pretty fiance, Hyun--a recovering alcoholic who runs a tropical fish store. Meanwhile, Hee's organization has hijacked a military truck transporting CTX, an explosive potent enough to destroy the entire city of Seoul, for potential use at a soccer match between North and South Korea, which is being staged as an attempt to heal the rocky relationship between the two countries. Ryu gets word of the potential destruction, but will he be able to find the mysterious Hee and stop it in time? A combination of breathtaking action sequences and timely politics spurred this thriller to surpass all previous box office records.
