Album Notes
Reissued in 2007 by the Sony Masterworks label, this version of Stephen Sondheim's macabre musical SWEENEY TODD presents recordings by the original 1979 cast, starring Len Cariou as Sweeney the "demon barber" and Angela Lansbury as his meat-pie-baking associate. Among the many standout songs in this dark, dramatic production are the boisterous "No Place Like London" and the ominous "Epiphany."
