Album Notes Personnel includes: Clint Black (vocals); The Pointer Sisters, Wynonna. Producers: James Stroud, Clint Black, Don Was. Having racked up ten gold and platinum records betweem this collection and his debut in 1989, Clint Black is different than many of the big hat men in country music. From the start, Black insisted on writing the songs he sang and using his touring band in the studio--a rarity in Nashville. Not only that--Black has shown no fear of dipping his hands in the rock & roll river of song. On his near-reverent cover of The Eagles' "Desperado," Black's voice is as strong as, if not stronger than that of Don Henley. On the gorgeous "Untanglin' My Mind," which he co-wrote with Merle Haggard, Black shows he can hang with one of country's geniuses and come out looking good. SUPER HITS is an excellent primer for anyone who missed Clint Black the first time around.
