Updated but not substantially changed, . . . [this new edition] is arranged thematically as in the original but contains some new information and examples of players who weren't in the game in [the 1980s]. Page design is new, but the smaller print and wider outside margins actually make the text look more crowded and less readable. . . . The continued use of mediocre, black-and-white photos makes even the new edition look dated, but Anderson's readable overview . . . is reason enough for many libraries to replace their old editions. Disappointing, but serviceable.
