Movie Description The story of the tempestuous relationship between Playboy Playmate of the Year Dorothy Stratten and her manager-husband that ended in tragedy.
Synopsis Unsettling film about Dorothy Stratten, whose tragic death in 1980 turned her into what is arguably Playboy magazine's most famous Playmate of the Year. Against her family's wishes, Dorothy, a sexy, naive beauty, fell in love with and married Paul Snider, a slimy, seedy lowlife. Snider not only managed Dorothy's fledgling film career, but had complete control over every aspect of the vulnerable starlet's life. But when Stratten began to liberate herself from the possessive Snider (she began dating Peter Bogdanovich, who directed her in 1981's "They All Laughed") it was more than Snider could take, and in a disturbing crime of passion, he brutally murdered both Dorothy, and then killed himself.
Film Notes "Star 80" was Bob Fosse's last film. He died from a heart attack in 1987.
