Synopsis
An enthusiastic tap dancer with an unruly mop of brown hair, Tommy can hardly wait for the chance to play Peter Rabbit in the upcoming kindergarten class play. Most unsatisfactorily, he ends with the bit part of silent Mopsy. Though he seizes the chance to steal the show with onstage antics that cause a laugh riot, his teacher and fellow actors are not so pleased. After saying he's sorry, Tommy feels ready for the stage once again, as he's truly "stagestruck." Another fun, nostalgic picture book based on Tomie dePaola's own childhood, the story is accompanied by his characteristically colorful, blocky acrylic paintings.
