A tour group embarks on a modern pilgrimage to the places sacred to Dale Earnhardt's memory--the racetracks of the Southeast. En route, these NASCAR pilgrims share their own histories and the reasons why the racecar driver's life and death were so personally significant to them. The book represents somewhat of a detour for Sharyn McCrumb, who is best known for her Ballad series of mysteries.
