This isn't a a best-of, per se--there's not a note here from the group's acknowledged masterwork, PET SOUNDS--but SPIRIT OF AMERICA is still a nice mix of familiar hits."Dance, Dance, Dance," "Do You Wanna Dance," and "Darlin'," are all included, along with lesser-known but still worthy album tracks. "Please Let Me Wonder, "Good to My Baby," and "Tell Me Why," an unplugged Beatles cover, are all highlights, as are fun early songs from the band's original surf and hot rod period, such as "Custom Machine" and "Don't Back Down."
