Synopsis
Sophie the spider considers herself an artist and every web she creates a unique work of art. However, the human residents of the house where she lives do not appreciate her artistic endeavors and are constantly tearing down her creations. Then one day Sophie meets an expectant mother, a woman who is not afraid of spiders but who is so poor that she can not afford to buy her baby a warm blanket. Knowing that her art will finally be appreciated, Sophie puts her life into weaving a wonderful blanket for the woman's baby. Illustrated with color paintings., Sophie the spider makes wondrous webs, but the residents of Beekman's Boarding House do not appreciate her until at last, old and tired, she weaves her final masterpiece.
