Though Tha Eastsidaz are a debut rap group, the fact the Snoop Dogg is a member goes a long way to help make the group's introduction to the music industry a smooth affair. With the help of fellow Long Beach rapper Tray Deee and newcomer Goldie Loc, Tha Eastsidaz remain faithful to the West Coast-flavored G'd-up hip-hop that first put Snoop on the map. On SNOOP DOGG PRESENTS THA EASTSIDAZ, the three MCs trade verses of low-riding and (for lack of a better term) West-siding. Songs like "Be Thankful" and "Take It Back to '85" illustrate the trio's penchant for less typical subject matter and show impressive lyrical diversity. And guest appearances from some of the Left Coast's finest (i.e., Kurupt and Xzibit) make this effort a true reminder of what the West has in store. Throw it up.
