As the title implies, SINGS SONGS OF LOVE is a compilation of Patsy Cline's romatically inclined material, from throughout her all-too-short career.

As budget compilations go, this one actually has a reason to live; in fact, it's got a concept - Cline singing romantic ballads - that actually makes sense, both musically and thematically. It's also helpful that most of these songs were recorded around the same time (early '60s), which means that the instrumental backing - twangy guitars, the piano banging out triplets, Jordannaires style chorus vocals - has a nice consistency. Several of Cline's biggest hits are here of course ("Crazy," "Sweet Dreams," "I Fall to Pieces"), but there are also excellent, lesser known tracks including nice covers of the Duprees doo-wop classic "You Belong to Me," and Cole Porter's "True Love."
