Movie Description
This award-winning collection of shorts and feature films addresses the diversity and complexity of the African-American diaspora. Heavy D stars in "Next Afternoon" as a man who receives a package in the mail, and becomes the unwitting accomplice to crime. A night on the town turns into a nightmare for two friends who are just looking for a good time in "Blow From the Past," and "Wooden Nickels" tells of a love plagued by addiction. In "Open the Sky," a man who has achieved his childhood dream of becoming a writer returns home, wanting to thank the bookstore owner who encouraged him as a boy. Finally, in "Gamepoint," old school meets new school to fight it out on the court.
