German youngsters with anime hair, Tokio Hotel look and sound like a pop act from a science fiction film. Androgynous singer Bill Kaulitz sings their pre-fab emo-goth confections with the total conviction that comes from being 19 years old. It's no surprise that this album is already a smash throughout Europe. Choruses that drip with youthful passion, as well as radio-friendly hooks and production, are splashed all over SCREAM, and the title track is a prime example of the band's skill. Whether Tokio Hotel is just a boy band in Hot Topic clothes remains to be seen, but they're certainly on to something fresh here.
