Synopsis Based on Eiji Yoshikawa's book MUSASHI MIYAMOTO, chronicling the life of the 17th century warrior of the same name, Inagaki's film version (in three parts) is an engrossing tale of a young man's turbulent journey through old-world Japan. Mifune (in a role similar to that he would play in THE SEVEN SAMURAI) is Miyamoto, the young man who dreams of battle, yet finds himself on the wrong side of a civil war. His chance at redemption comes from a loving woman and a wise priest who puts him on the path to enlightenment...and the way of the samurai.
