Released six years after his debut, FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP, Sammie's self-titled 2006 album finds the young R&B singer easing into adulthood. Featuring a formidable array of producers, including Jazze Pha and Dallas Austin, and guests such as Sean Paul (of YoungBloodz) and Da Backwudz, the record reintroduces the Atlanta, Georgia-based vocalist as an Usher-like performer capable of both energetic hip-hop-tinged jams ("You Should Be My Girl," "Keep It Movin'") and smooth ballads ("Another Last Chance").
