When the classic TV show "Saturday Night Live" celebrated its 25th anniversary, Dreamworks Records issued two CDs of previously unreleased musical performances from the years of the show. SNL 25: THE MUSICAL PERFORMANCES VOL. 1 sounds as vibrant and fresh as it did when the songs were first played on the show. The first volume has some appearances that go back to the mid-'70s, including Billy Joel ("Only the Good Die Young"), the Grateful Dead ("Casey Jones"), and Elvis Costello ("Radio, Radio"). Also appearing on the first disc are Paul Simon, Sting, Eric Clapton, and James Taylor. Youthful acts like Lenny Kravitz ("Are You Gonna Go My Way"), Dave Matthews Band, ("What Would You Say") and Jewel ("Who Will Save Your Soul") are also included on the 15-song set.
