Movie Description Lloyd Bridges stars as spaceship pilot Colonel Graham in this 1950 sci-fi film about a group of four astronauts (three men, one woman) whose trip to the moon is ruined when a solar wind blows them off course, forcing them to land on Mars. There, they find a primitive society of beings that bear a striking resemblance to humans. One of the better sci-fi films to come out of the 1950s, ROCKETSHIP X-M is a serious thriller that boasts excellent black and white photography (the Mars scenes have an eerie red tint), fine acting, and mixes an intriguing plot and sophisticated science with some rather bizarre fifties naivete, making for a thoroughly entertaining trip into space.
