Album Notes Personnel: Ricardo Arjona (vocals); Alger Erosa (acoustic & electric guitars); Rodrigo Cardenas (acoustic guitar, bass); Fernando Acosta (alto & tenor saxophones, EWI); Victor Patron (piano, keyboards); Waldo Madera (bass, drums); Armando Montiel (percussion); Elizabeth Meza (background vocals). Recorded live in Guatamala on December 5, 1998 & from 1998-1999. Hailing from Guatemala, singer Ricardo Arjona has developed a unique style of confessional songwriting that brings him close to other Latin pop luminaries such as Pablo Milanes, Silvio Rodriguez, and Joan Manuel Serrat. In 1998, during the tour to promote the excellent album SIN DANOS A TERCEROS, Arjona decided to record a couple of performances in his native country for a live album that would capture the audience's highly emotional response to his music. Indeed, the record's title has a double meaning. VIVO for an album that was done live, but also meaning "I live," I exist and continue to grow through my music. Not surprisingly, the selections include some of Arjona's most beloved hits, from the smashing rock-pop opener, "Aqui Estoy," to the melodramatic "Te Conozco," where one can hear thousands of fans chanting along. The disc includes the bonus track of "Desnuda," the theme song to the massively popular Mexican soap opera "Tres Mujeres."
