Movie Description
A woman falls in love with a young violinist who is too passionately devoted to his career to respond. Following him to Zurich, she meets a talented pianist who falls in love with her and must decide between the two men.

Credits
Cast:Elizabeth Taylor
Director:Charles Vidor
Producer:Lawrence Weingarten

Synopsis
This melodrama features Elizabeth Taylor as a woman who must choose between two men in the world of classical music.

Wealthy, whiny Louise Durant gives her heart to Paul Bronte, a violin prodigy. But the musician feels he has no time for love, so he ends the romance in order to focus on his career.

Louise then meets sweet pianist John Ericson, who sacrifices his vocation to court her. They marry and become full-time social butterflies. Without his music, however, John turns to the bottle for solace. When Paul skyrockets to fame, Louise decides she wants him back. Her scheme: persuade John to return to the piano.

As John finds music again, he stops drinking and becomes successful -- and perhaps the man Louise wants after all.
