Warner Bros. was founded in 1958 in Burbank, CA, initially with the intention of promoting the recording careers of the film company's actors. Growing with the acquisition of Frank Sinatra's Reprise Records, Warner Bros. went on to host artists including R.E.M., Miles Davis, Alice Cooper, Seal, Captain Beefheart, and the Grateful Dead.
