Album Notes The second album by primitivist female punk trio the Slits features nine tracks including two versions of "Earthbeat" and "Life on Earth".
Industry Reviews 3 stars out of 5 -- [T]he super-loose RETURN OF THE GIANT SLITS can still spin heads with its pinging guitars, tribal rhythms and Ari Up's yodelling war cries.
At its most intense, there was a poignancy and rigour to the way The Slits combined icy extrapolations of reggae beats with a kind of post-punk tribalism.
4 stars out of 5 -- It's a more mature Slits we hear here, the breathless, punky-reggae rush of 'Shoplifting' replaced by more open-ended explorations in rhythm that touch on dub reggae.
4 stars out of 5 -- The standout is 'Earthbeat,' a mesmerising Afrobeat/dub/punk meander.
