Synopsis
In Robert Parker's follow-up to APPALOOSA, the cowboy duo of Everett Hitch and Virgil Cole inadvertently instigate a civil war between ranchers and a mining boss in a town with no law enforcement. What's worse, after blood has already been shed, they come to realize that they are likely fighting on the wrong side of this war, as the mining boss who hired them reveals his corruption. Now the ranchers are out for their blood, and Hitch and Cole must decide whether they should keep fighting for an immoral cause, or lose face by abandoning the battle altogether., When greedy mine owner Eamon O'Malley threatens the loose coalition of local ranchers and starts buying up Resolution's few businesses, Hitch and Cole find themselves in the middle of a makeshift war between O'Malley's men and the ranchers. In a place where law and order don't exist, Hitch and Cole must make their own, guided by their sense of duty, honor, and friendship.
