Album Notes Initial pressings of REBIRTH OF THE LOUD include a bonus free limited edition Epitaph CD Sampler. REBIRTH OF THE LOUD brings fond memories of the JUDGEMENT NIGHT soundtrack to mind. While rap/rock collaborations had been toyed with in the '80s, in an approach that at times seemingly bordered on parody, the genre has since come into its own. Priority Records has assembled a collection that features cutting edge bands in the genre as well as several older tracks for good measure. Atlanta's own Sevendust, who've since shot into the mainstream with their Pantera-meets-Living Color style, offer the track "Denial." Well respected rapper Mos Def almost sounds like he's melting dub into hip hop in "Rock N Roll," as he champions the roots of rock and their origins in black music. Incubus serves up a dose of "Vitamin" while the remix of "F*** Dying" matches Ice Cubes sharp edged rhymes with Korn's crunchy riffing. The set includes a special bonus disc that showcases a slew of new and existing bands on the Epitaph roster including Madball and Voodoo Glow Skulls.
