Synopsis The personification of Death, one of Terry Pratchett's most popular characters, undergoes forcible retirement in this 11th humorous installment of the Discworld fantasy series. Death has started to become a bit too human, and as a result, the auditors of reality have deemed him inefficient and plan to replace him. During the period of transition between Death's dismissal and his successor's assumption of the office, Death retires to a farm and attempts to enjoy what passes for his life before it's taken away from him.
