Movie Description In this film noir classic, a revenge-seeking gangster (Dennis O'Keefe) is sent to prison after being framed for a crime he didn't commit. After seducing a beautiful young woman, he uses her to help him carry out his plot for vengeance, leading him to the crazy pyromaniac (Raymond Burr) who set him up.
Synopsis After rough-and-tumble Joe Sullivan breaks out of jail, instead of enjoying freedom, he falls smack into a "Raw Deal."
His squeeze, Pat Regan, helps him flee the Big House, and immediately afterward, the escaped con takes a prisoner of his own, do-gooder Ann Martin, as a bargaining chip.
Joe barely eludes the police, but he arranges a secret meeting with his former boss, mob big-shot Rick Coyle. Rick, though, has in store for Joe a most wicked fate.
As if this crisscross of law and lawlessness was not enough, Joe becomes attracted to Ann -- much to Pat's chagrin.
