Movie Description A hilarious comedy about two men on a search for a missing heiress. One is a hired detective, and the other is an accident waiting to happen. Operating on the theory that "it takes one to find one," he is sent on a mission to rescue the world's most accident-prone heiress. Remake of the French farce LA CHEVRE.
Synopsis After a wealthy businessman's incredibly unlucky daughter disappears during a Mexican vacation, he sends an equally unlucky accountant and a hard-boiled detective Campanella to find her. Dad's unorthodox theory: all unlucky people have the same behavior patterns. Soon the accountant and the detective are off stumbling from one misadventure to another on the heels of the hapless woman.
Film Notes Remake of the 1982 French film, "La Chevre" ("The Goat). Film was written and directed by Francis Veber and starred Pierre Richard, Gerard Depardieu, and Corynne Charbit. Martin Short also starred in the American film "Three Fugitives," which was also executive-produced by Francis Veber and adapted from a French original.
Sam Wanamaker replaced Robert Loggia in the part of Highsmith.
