Movie Description The true story of the infamous Dreyfus affair that shook 18th century France. Captain Alfred Dreyfus had been found guilty of trying to sneak military secrets to the enemy but George Picquart, head of counter-intelligence, discovered that he was innocent and although the Army fought against him every step of the way, he persisted to expose the truth. The case became a national debate.
Synopsis In 1890's France, Jewish officer Alfred Dreyfus was wrongly accused by the government of sending military secrets to the Germans. He was sentenced to Devil's Island, despite his claims of innocence.
This telefilm chronicles the heroic efforts of Dreyfus's fellow officer Col. Georges Picquart to uncover the truth. His efforts forced him to fight many battles, not the least of which was anti-Semitism within the military, the government -- and himself.
