Synopsis
Sidney Lumet directed this Reagan-era expose for media consultants and their packaging of politicians to voters. In this political thriller Pete St. John (Richard Gere), the high-powered head of a media consulting firm, sells candidates for office the same way any other mindless commodity is marketed. When Pete takes on Jerome Cade (J.T. Walsh), a client whose scruples are more suspect than his own, he is forced to reexamine his loss of ideals.
