Movie Description
While writer and director Hal Hartley has made several feature-length films (including HENRY FOOL, TRUST, and THE BOOK OF LIFE among others), he cites his shorter artistic works as being integral to his creative process. Ranging from 7- to 27- minutes in length, the film and video pieces here include everything from a mini-opera to part-dance/part-illustrated meditations on themes of love, competition, war, and erotic longing. This collection includes the shorts OPERA NO. 1, THE OTHER ALSO, THE NEW MATH, NYC3/94, THE SISTERS OF MERCY (starring Parker Posey), and KIMONO.
