Synopsis
In this sports biography, journalist Mark Kriegel chronicles the life and career of basketball legend Pete Maravich, who set records while playing in the NCAA in the 1960s and in the NBA in the '70s. In telling his tale, Kreigel focuses on Maravich's relation with his father, Press Maravich, an obsessive man who introduced Pete to basketball at an early age, and who coached him at LSU. Kriegel tells tales of Pistol Pete on and off the court, and follows him into retirement where he became interested in religion, veegetarianism, and UFOs., among other things.
