Then one night, he takes his own life outside the biggest party of the year. The tragedy tears apart David's friends and family--not only are these loved ones bereaved, but they also profoundly puzzled by David's fateful choice. The individual most upset by the tragedy is David's best friend Chris (Keanu Reeves), a troubled near-alcoholic who already leads a reckless life. David's death, some worry, might be the incident that finally pushes Chris over the edge. One of Reeve's first starring roles, PERMANENT RECORD is a sensitive, powerful exploration of teen suicide and the devastating effect it has on those left behind.
