Industry Reviews K-Gr 6 Seventeen recipes and 20 poems make up this hybrid collection. The book opens with a long list of suggestions for cooking in a safe kitchen and illustrations of utensils. Jack Prelutsky's ``Spaghetti! Spaghetti!'' precedes a recipe for cheesy spaghetti and meat pie; Mary Ann Hoberman's tongue twister, ``Yellow Butter,'' comes before fruity-cheesy toast. Each recipe includes ingredients, equipment needed, directions (in great detail), and additional tips. The pages are sprinkled with colored-pencil illustrations. The small print and detailed descriptions and recipes make the book suitable for upper-elementary readers and for adults working with younger children. The poetry will appeal to all youngsters. Though not a priority purchase, this is a well-done, appealing selection. Judy Greenfield, Rye Free Reading Room, NY Lopate
