Synopsis
Patty Jane marries Thor, a handsome architect-to-be, when she is 21. On her wedding night, she gets pregnant; but instead of the happily-ever-after she anticipates, Patty Jane finds her husband growing more distant as she gets more pregnant. Eventually, he leaves her. Although her sister Harriet supports her, eventually tragedy befalls Harriet as well when her lover is killed in a plane crash. Ten years later, Patty Jane runs the House of Curl in Minneapolis, Harriet has turned to drink, and Thor is found to be imprisoned by an insane oral surgeon. Wacky plot twists abound in this sweet tale.
