Album Notes Cowboy Junkies: Margo Timmins (vocals), Michael Timmins (guitar), Alan Anton (bass), Peter Timmins (drums). Additional personnel: Ken Myhr (lead guitar), Jeff Bird (harmonica, mandolin, 8-string bass, percussion), Richard Bell (piano, organ). Recorded at Studio 306, Toronto, Canada in April, 1993. All songs written by Michael Timmins except "The Post" (J. Mascis) and "Hard To Explain" (Ray Agee). A small portion of the lyrics on tracks 1, 2 & 6 are taken from the writings of Townes Van Zandt, William Faulkner's "Absalom, Absalom" and Gabriel Garcia Marquez's "The General In His Labyrinth" respectively.
Industry Reviews ...PALE SUN, CRESCENT MOON more closely recalls the sparse, clinically depressed Junkies everyone first fell in love with....The Cowboy Junkies are drawn to the flightiness of spirits, but finally write great, grounded music for and about real people.... Musician (12/01/1993)
