Album Notes This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Compilation producer: Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. P. Diddy, or Puff Daddy, or Sean "Puffy" Combs, depending on how the mood strikes him, didn't get to be one of hip-hop's biggest entrepeneurs by being the shy, retiring type. So one will conceivably take the album title's claim, and the liner notes' spin-doctored bravado, with a sizable grain of salt. Nevertheless, Puffy's skills as a hit-making producer and recording artist can't be called into question. If WE INVENTED THE REMIX was simply an unadorned compilation of past hits on Combs's Bad Boy label it would be impressive enough, but Puffy ups the ante on his pop legacy by updating the tracks with his vaunted remix skills and the addition of guest artists, turning gold into, well, more gold. New cuts by R&B siren Ashanti ("Unfoolish") and the Didster himself (most notably the romantically inclined plea for tenderness "I Need a Girl") show that the man remains a player on the move.
Industry Reviews ...These freelance gigs are as playfully imaginative as Sean Combs' solo material is bereft of creativity... - Rating: B+ Entertainment Weekly (05/24/2002)
