Synopsis
Despite his silky smoothness, Jack Foley has still managed to land in prison. He soon escapes, but then has the bad luck to run into deputy U.S. marshal Karen Sisco. He stuffs her into the trunk of the getaway car driven by his friend Buddy, but being a gentleman as well as a wanted man, climbs in with her. An odd first date, it works until Sisco escapes and heads up the party looking for the jailbird. But he's already on his way to Detroit where he has a heist-ready gang of pals expecting him. A classic Leonard tale of crime, caper, and fun.
