This double feature contains the following two comedies from Spain.
NUEVA YOL 1: The tale of a Dominican widower named Balbuena (Luisito Marti), who moves to New York searching for a better life. However, once there he encounters a troubled family reunion, difficulty finding a job without a green card, a wild relationship with another ex-Dominican, and a run-in with the law. Based on a popular Dominican Republic television character.
NUEVA YOL 3: The continuing story of Balbuena (Marti), a hard-working Dominican searching for a better life in New York. He runs into troubles when a new government immigration law cuts off Medicare to scores of immigrants, but with the help of his pal Fellito (Carbonel), he enters a false marriage to gain citizenship and retain his social security benefits. Although NUEBA YOL 3 is actually a direct sequel to the first installment, director Angel Muniz decided to title this as a "part three" with the superstitious belief that sequels are usually unsuccessful.
