Movie Description
NOW & THEN: Melanie Griffith, Demi Moore, Rosie O’Donnell, and Rita Wilson star as adults who have been friends since childhood in this nostalgic dramedy. The four women reunite when one of them is about to give birth. This gives them the chance to reminisce about the summer of 1970, a time when they first experienced puppy love, shared girlish secrets, discussed sex and boys, battled bullies, and attempted to solve a murder mystery. The strong bonds these young women forged back then endured despite the passing years and their different fates. Now they have the chance to reaffirm that powerful friendship on a joyous, special occasion. Christina Ricci, Thora Birch, Gaby Hoffman, and Ashleigh Ashton Moore earn most of the screen time as the younger version of the adult women.
CORRINA, CORRINA: Oscar-winner Whoopi Goldberg stars as the title character in this drama set in the 1950s. When a young girl’s (Tina Majorino) mother dies, her father (Ray Liotta) hires Goldberg’s Corrina to take care of his now-mute daughter. With its '50s setting, CORRINA, CORRINA addresses the difficulties of interracial friendship during America’s past, but the mood is lightened by comic interactions between Goldberg and Majorino (WATERWORLD).
