A year after EPMD's messy first breakup, Erick Sermon lets his music do the talking. Handling duties behind the boards as well as on the mic, the Green Eyed Bandit comes correct with NO PRESSURE, debunking the widely-held theory that Parrish had always been the stronger talent in the duo. E stays in familiar production territory--utilizing samples from EPMD favorites like Zapp, James Brown, and Parliament--while working his trademark lisped rhyme flow to its fullest off-beat potential, speaking on safe sex, gold-diggin' females, and industry shadiness, while passing the mic to a stable of select protégées. Among the album's many highlights is "Hostile," which introduces a hungry young Keith Murray with an impressively bombastic verse-two tirade.
