Album Notes The Dead Boys includes: Stiv Bators (vocals); Cheetah Chrome. Recorded in 1979. Recorded in 1979 just before the Dead Boys' split, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD BOYS is a earsplitting blast of classic New York punk fury and fun--there's more feedback on this ultra-trebly album than on the Velvet Underground's "Sister Ray." The booklet of this CD reissue reveals that the album's something of a cheat, as Stiv Bators re-recorded his vocals in the studio, but all this really means is that NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD BOYS sounds better than any of the other archival Dead Boys live sets. Oozing contempt like nobody's business--nobody had baited an audience like this since Lou Reed's TAKE NO PRISONERS--Bators and crew run through tracks from both of their classic albums, including the classics "I Need Lunch," "Sonic Reducer," and "Catholic Boy." This is archetypal New York punk attitude.
