Harold Stone's (Harry Anderson) career as a NIGHT COURT judge formed the basis for this comedic show, which first brightened up television schedules in 1984. With a maverick style that produced surprisingly good results, Stone was often the bane of the courtroom's staff, while being a firm favorite of the various miscreants who passed before him. The rest of his staff added to the laughs, varying from the stiff, by-the-book court clerk, Mac (Charlie Robinson), to the delectable defense attorney, Christine (Markie Post), and a host of other oddball characters.
