This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Possum Dixon burst onto the scene in the mid-'90s with the semi-hit "Watch The Girl Destroy Me," making the world safe for smart, snappy new wave-influenced pop-rock. While they didn't exactly become household names in the '90s, they found fans among those who appreciated their '80s tinged, bittersweet sound. Retro references abound, from the Oingo Boingo-ish rhythms of "Only In The Summertime" to processed guitar sound on "Stop Breaking Me." A quick look at the production credits will reveal one reason for all this aural nostalgia; NEW SHEETS was overseen by ex-Car Ric Ocasek, who adds zesty synthesizer lines throughout. Don't get the idea that Ocasek is leading this trio around by the nose, though. Possum Dixon have their own agenda, mixing old-school production values with a very modern attitude.
