Movie Description
When an American woman returning to Bangkok to visit her estranged mother finds her mother murdered, she gets caught in a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game between the CIA and Far East revolutionaries plotting to kill Henry Kissinger.
Synopsis
Dr. Jessie MacCarthy has not visited Bangkok in over two decades, but at her mother Rachel's request, she reluctantly agrees to return. Her trip coincides with one of the most important political events of the period: the signing of the Treaty of Reconciliation between Vietnam and the U.S.
But Dr. MacCarthy never sees Rachel, because someone brutally kills her just prior to Jessie's arrival. No one knows the culprit's identity, but there is a motive: Rachel belonged to an underground movement helping Vietnamese citizens sneak into the United States.
However, as Jessie probes into the situation more deeply, she begins to suspect that her mother's political activities may have been more sinister than she ever imagined...
