Movie Description
Having merged the NFL and AFL into one league with two conferences a spectacle unlike any other was created when the Championship Game was replaced by the Super Bowl in the 1960s. This new structure combined with fierce competition to create some classic moments in a sport that was about to break through as one of America's most popular games. This collection of NFL Films archives looks at the 1960s and the decade's most colorful football personas including Joe Namath, Vince Lombardi, Dick Butkus, and Johnny Unitas. Told in three volumes, "Creation (1962-1965)" about the league's beginning; "Renegades (1960-1969)" examining the anti-heroes of the game; and "Merger (1970)" which looks at two leagues combining forces.
