Movie Description "It's happening...We're locked into it, 50 minutes and counting...They'll pick us up in five or ten...We could get it back in an hour." This is what Harry heard when he answered a ringing pay phone. Total nuclear war is 70 minutes away. He must do everything he can to save himself and his new love, Julie.
Synopsis Harry falls head-over-heels in love with Julie, a waitress he's just met, and the two decide to get together when her shift ends. But Harry runs late and misses Julie. At the rendezvous point, however, a pay phone rings. When Harry answers it, a soldier tells him that a nuclear bomb will destroy the U.S. in one hour! Harry frantically searches for his new love and tells everyone he encounters about the phone call. As the news spreads, it seems everybody is trying desperately to flee the country via helicopter. But Harry continues his quest. Will he find Julie? Will it matter?
Industry Reviews "...[Edwards and Winningham] make an unusually refreshing pair....MIRACLE MILE is a movie that takes a deep breath and shucks off most of the usual solemnity to wonder again, what if?..." Holden
"The year's most energetically directed 'B'..." USA Today - Mike Clark (12/08/1989)
