Synopsis While the truth about Michael Jackson's reported liaisons with a succession of young boys may never be known, one of his closest associates has no doubt as to the King of Pop's intentions. Bob Jones was associated with the Jackson camp for nearly 35 years, spending many of them as the singer's public-relations manager. This relationship ended abruptly in 2004 with a curt letter from Jackson's lawyer--a move of questionable wisdom given the amount of dirt Jones dishes here. He unveils a laundry list of bad behavior, including Jackson's attempts to derail his siblings' careers when they threatened to overshadow his own, and problematic relationships with young boys at least a decade before allegations of sexual abuse were first leveled against him. (Jackson also allegedly displayed a tenuous grasp of movie analysis when he claimed to have wept during a screening of the Will Smith comedy sci-fi vehicle MEN IN BLACK.) While most of these allegations are unsubstantiated, and Jones's motives likely driven by an urge for revenge, Jackson emerges as at best an eccentric figure, and at worst a man extremely fortunate to have escaped jail time.
