Synopsis Little Mia is a promising soccer player, but walks off the field in frustration when she has trouble scoring in a game with her five brothers and sisters ("Mia didn't want better luck next time. She wanted better luck now"). The next day, her siblings won't play with her, and she begins to understand the importance of teamwork: "Maybe she'd score the goal. Maybe she wouldn't. But she was playing." And playing, after all, is "more important than winning or losing." Famous soccer player Mia Hamm wrote this instructive story, and offers an additional two pages of facts and photographs depicting highlights of her career. Full-color watercolor illustrations and color photographs accompany the text.
